Levigon : des livres uniques et rares, soigneusement sélectionnés pour les collectionneurs, les amateurs d'art et d'histoire.

This two-volume set brings together the official accounts of the expeditions led by Christopher Middleton (1741–1742) and William Moor and Francis Smith (1746–1747). These voyages were part of the British Admiralty’s sustained efforts to locate a navigable route through the Arctic and Hudson Bay region to the Pacific Ocean.

The journals provide detailed observations of navigation, ice conditions, coastal geography, and interactions with Indigenous peoples of the Hudson Bay region. They also reflect the political and commercial tensions surrounding Arctic exploration and the competing claims over knowledge of the Northwest Passage.

The Hakluyt Society, Second Series Nos. 177 & 181, 1992. Complete two-volume set. Illustrated. With bibliography and index. Hardcover with dust jackets. Excellent condition.
