Levigon : des livres uniques et rares, soigneusement sélectionnés pour les collectionneurs, les amateurs d'art et d'histoire.

Part of his long-running ON-AIR project, this large-format monograph explores the concepts of time, impermanence and human presence through extraordinary long-exposure photography.

Using exposure times of up to eight hours on large-format film, Atta Kim transforms busy urban environments into haunting, almost deserted landscapes. Photographed in cities including New York, Berlin, Paris, Prague, India and China, moving people and vehicles gradually disappear, leaving behind dreamlike images that reflect the transience of existence. Inspired by both the origins of photography and the Buddhist concept of impermanence (anicca), the series invites viewers to reconsider the relationship between time, memory and perception.

Published by the renowned art publisher Hatje Cantz, this beautifully produced large-format volume contains 99 colour photographs and includes an essay by Lesley Martin. An important monograph for collectors of contemporary photography and conceptual art.

Hatje Cantz, 2009, first edition, 165 pages, illustrated, large-format hardcover with dust jacket, excellent condition.
